My Show Career:

Cherokee's  first real show was the SCLA Specialty . He was out of coat but my handler talked me into showing him anyway.  When the judge, (Mrs. Zuver) pointed at Cherokee for Winner's Dog, (from 12-18 class) I had no idea he had won. I thought she was just setting him to the side. Then everyone started hugging me and I realized what happened. What a thrill for a 13 month old puppy! He racked up all of his minor points throughout the next year and I was hoping to finish him at the SCLA Specialty the following year ( he was out of coat again...ugh!). He went Reserve Winner's Dog at the Specialty, then finished the following day by going best of Winner's for another 5 point Major under breeder judge Mrs. Lynette Hansen-Blue! He took some time off to grow up, and has since had numerous Breed wins, and made it to the final cut at the 1999 National Specialty!!
